Arches National Park: Moab, Utah

Bridget:

If you were a stop on our road trip, you probably wouldn’t want to follow Colorado. How could you possibly measure up? Well, I must say that if any place could possibly stack up, it’s Arches National Park located in Moab, Utah. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and drove around just long enough to take in the terrific scenery and snap a few pics. Then the next morning we were very ambitious and decided to wake up super early to get first dibs on at least one of the trails. The “Delicate Arch” was first up. You may have seen this arch on Utah’s state license plate. We climbed the 1.5 miles up to the arch which sits on the edge of a cliff with breathtaking views in the background.

As you can see, the most amazing part of the morning was that somehow we timed it just right and had the place to ourselves for about 20 minutes. Literally the minute we decided to head back, we passed about 100 people on their way up the trail.

Some other cool arches/landforms we saw included:

Landscape Arch

North and South Windows

Balanced Rock

Erosion is a crazy phenomenon.
